Mali have secured a place in the quarter-finals of the Africa Cup of Nations for the eighth time in their history following their dramatic victory at AFCON 2025.
The Eagles’ latest qualification adds to an impressive record at the continental tournament. Mali previously reached the last eight in 1994, 2002, 2004, 2012, 2013, and 2023, and have now done so again in 2025.
Their current run highlights Mali’s growing consistency on the African stage, as they continue to compete strongly among the continent’s top football nations. Despite never winning the trophy, Mali have regularly shown the ability to go deep into the competition.
With another quarter-final appearance confirmed, Mali will now look to build on this achievement and push further in their quest for a first-ever AFCON title.
