Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has expressed his delight following the club’s successful signing of winger Antoine Semenyo, praising the Ghanaian international for choosing the Premier League champions amid interest from several top clubs.
“Many clubs wanted him and he decided to join us, so all I can say is thanks to him,” Guardiola said in a press briefing. “We are very pleased. For a long time, we have been following him.”
Semenyo’s arrival adds depth and dynamism to City’s attacking options, with Guardiola highlighting that the club had tracked the 24-year-old winger for some time before finally securing his signature.
The Ghana international is expected to compete for regular minutes in the Premier League and Champions League, bringing pace, versatility, and goal-scoring ability to City’s frontline.
He made his debut for the Cityzens in the 10-1 win over Exeter in the FA Cup fortnights ago, scoring and providing an assist.
