Asante Kotoko head coach Mariano Barreto has stated that no team is mounting pressure on his side despite being leapfrogged by arch rivals Accra Hearts of Oak on the league standings.
The Porcupine Warriors drew at the Nana Agyemang Badu Park while Hearts of Oak defeated Berekum Chelsea 2-0 to extend their lead to 47 points, two points better than Kotoko.
Despite Hearts leading the chart, coach Baretto says he does not feel the pressure from the title chase.
“We don’t feel pressure, we feel pressure for ourselves not from the other teams.” Baretto said.
Kotoko have gone five matches, winning two and drawing three of them.
A 3-1 win over Dreams FC and a subsequent 2-1 victory against Dwarfs earned them nine points on the road.
They have however drawn their last three games, 1-1 to Liberty Professionals and WAFA respectively and goalless at Aduana Stars.
Kotoko will next play AshantiGold at the Len Clay Stadium for match day 28 on Sunday June 6 at 3:00pm
