High-flying Ashanti Gold SC were beaten 2-1 at home by relegation threatening side Elmina Sharks at the Obuasi Len Clay sports stadium on Sunday.

Ashgold started the game on good note but failed to utilize all the good chances they had throughout the game.
Eric Osei opened scored for the visiting team through the spot before skillful Benjamin Tweneboah doubled Sharks lead.
Ashgold had the opportunity to score first in the 9th minute a spot missed by Richard Ocran denied the miners the lead in the 19 minutes.
Winger Amos Addai could not finished the first half and had to be replaced by Osei Baffour after picking what looks like a knee injury in the game.
Hans Kwofie was brought on to replace Emmanuel Osei Baffour who was introduced into the game in the second Half as substitute for penalty miss Richard Ocran.
Shafiu Mumuni reduced Elmina Sharks lead to 2-1 in the 74th minute with a nice strike after the host had piled pressure on Yaw Acheampong’s side.
The miners pushed further for parity but had less time to do that as the score line remained 2-1 after stipulated time.
