Accra Hearts of Oak failed to win in their home game against Bechem United played at the Babayara sports stadium on Sunday.
Striker Hafiz Konkoni Wontah opened the scoring in the 5th minute after Hearts of Oak goalkeeper Theophilus Jackson fumbled with a cross and Hafiz was handed the easiest job of taping in.
The Phobians who started with a 4-1-3-2 formation with Cosmos Dauda and Joseph Esso leading the lines as Winful Cobbinah, Daniel Kordie and Aminu Alhassan provide support from the midfield – unsuccessfully searched for the equalizer despite creating the best chances in the first half with Dauda the biggest culprit.
Assistant coach Nii Odoom – in charge of his second game since head coach Wellington fell sick – brought on Patrick Razak for Richard Akrofi in the 40th minute and the winger provided the extra attacking energy the team needed. Razak scored the equalizer in the 4th minute of injury time after he was served a sweet through ball to salvage a point for his team.
