MATCH REPORT: RTU thrash Great Olympics in Tamale to end winless run

At the Aliu Mahama Stadium in Tamale on Thursday evening, Real Tamale United (RTU) defeated Accra Great Olympics 3-1 in their match week 24 clash.

Although the visitors took an early lead in the 5th minute through Yusif Abdul Razak, Real Tamale United gained control of the game as half time approached. However, they were unable to convert a free kick in the 40th minute, as Stephen Badu shot wide off target.

Real Tamale United continued to dominate in the second half, making a double change with Frimpong replacing Kwame Boakye and Hardi replacing Issahaku Fusieni. In the 55th minute, Mohammed Sadat scored the equalizer, and Badu later scored two goals in the 64th and 66th minutes, respectively, putting the home side in the lead for the first time in the game.

The referee ended the game after six minutes of added time, with RTU in 10th place on the league table with 32 points, and Great Olympics in 17th place with 28 points. RTU will next play against Asante Kotoko, while Great Olympics will take on Berekum Chelsea.
