Match Report: Zuberu Sharani powers Dreams FC to victory over struggling Liberty Professionals

Dreams FC secured their first away win of the season on Thursday as Zuberu Sharani’s powerful strike from the edge of the box was enough to deepen the woes of Liberty Professionals.

This win was ensured Dreams FC had their first back-to-back victories of the season.

Dreams FC started the first few minutes of the first half on the backfoot as Liberty fashioned out the first shot on target but Isaac Amoako stood his ground to block a powerful shot from the edge of the box.

Dreams FC regained composure and took control of the game producing some good display of football and inter-positional play but a near slip up in midfield nearly cost us but the Liberty striker could only scoff his shot wide.

Dreams FC continued domination finally paid off in the 29th minute when Eric Gawu laid the ball on to Zuberu Sharani who shot beautifully into the top right corner of the Liberty goal.

The goal seemed to have gingered the Still Believe lads as they displayed some good control and passing.

There was an opportunity for Dreams FC to double the chance late in the half but Kwadwo Asamoah hit his shot well wide to end the half.

Liberty came back from the break the more energized side and made the first incursion but they couldn’t get the equalizer.

The game balanced out as it wore on with a few chances coming each side’s way.

A couple of chances in quick succession for Zuberu Sharani could have had given the striker a hattrick but his first shot was blocked and he headed the second off the bar.

Liberty Professionals were educed to 10 men later on as Elvis Kyei Baffour received a second yellow card for a tackle on Patrick Arthur

A final push by Liberty was not to be as Dreams FC held on to the win.

Dreams FC now lie 3rd on the log with this win and face continental campaigners, Aduana Stars next at the Theatre of Dreams.
