Medeama forward Nana Kofi Babil completed a loan switch to Austria Bundesliga side SCR Altach on Monday eleven days after the Ghana Football Association decided to cancel the 2019/20 football season but we already have a move as Medeama gets busy in full swing in the European transfer market.
“The Executive Council of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), has taken a decision to cancel the 2019/20 football season following a marathon meeting on Tuesday, June 30, 2020 at the GFA Secretariat in Accra. Accordingly, all records associated with the season have been expunged but fines accrued must be honoured by clubs.” the GFA stated in an announcement on July 9th.
Babil scored 4 goals in 10 matches for Medeama in the Ghana Premier League but the decision to cancel the season and expunge all records means history will not record these statistics. The goals will not count. The wins have been erased as well as the losses but the performance remained unaffected and Kofi Babil’s move to Austria is an evidence.
Medeama were closer to the league title on the basis of their second position after the first 15 round of matches but the effort of Samuel Boadu and his team at least has not gone unrecognized after managing to secure a loan transfer for one of their players especially amidst the Covid-19.
