Medeama SC head coach Ibrahim Tanko has lauded his players for their impressive attacking display in the MTN FA Cup, after the defending champions cruised to a commanding victory over Rospak SC.
Tanko commended the sharpness and urgency his side displayed from the opening whistle, noting that their four-goal first-half blitz was a reflection of their dominance and tactical discipline.
“We started very well; we had a very early goal, and that made things easier for us,” he told Medi TV after the match. “After the first goal, we continued pushing, and we scored four goals before halftime. Overall, I think we fully deserved the win.”
With a crucial Ghana Premier League showdown against Asante Kotoko looming, Tanko believes the emphatic FA Cup performance has come at the perfect time, boosting confidence within the squad ahead of Sunday’s fixture.
“If you score four goals in a game before facing Asante Kotoko, it definitely gives confidence,” he added. “We are going to prepare well for that game.”
Medeama travel to the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on Sunday, November 30, for a highly anticipated Week 12 clash against Asante Kotoko. Kick-off is scheduled for 3:00 pm.
