Ibrahim Tanko and Mubarik Yussif saw Medeama SC drop valuable points again after a goalless draw against FC Samartex 1996 in Week 23 of the Ghana Premier League at the Nsenkyire Arena.
Medeama’s advantage at the top of the table has now been reduced to just three points as the title race becomes tighter.
The league leaders went into the match determined to respond after their recent home draw against Aduana FC, where captain Mubarik Yussif missed a late penalty that could have secured victory. Against Samartex, they showed discipline and defensive strength but could not find the breakthrough.
Both sides created chances in a competitive and well-balanced contest, yet neither team managed to score. Medeama’s backline remained solid throughout, but their attack failed to convert opportunities.
With 11 matches left in the season, Medeama remain first on the table with 45 points. However, Bibiani Gold Stars have moved into second place with 42 points, increasing the pressure as the race for the title enters a crucial stage.
