Ghanaian forward, Michael Sarpong has been named Man-Of-The-Match in his first appearance for Tanzanian giant Young Africans SC.
The former Rayon Sports FC attacker scored his first goal of the season for Yellow and Greens in his first competitive outing against Tanzania Prisons FC on Sunday.
Lambert Sabiyanka scored to put the away team 1-0 up after eight minutes of action before Sarpong’s equalizer 11 minutes later.
The game could not produce anymore goals and the two teams had to settle for a point each.
A poll by the club for the supporters to vote for their MVP saw the Ghanaian attacker with a whopping 51% of the of the total votes casted as he becomes the first player in his team to win the Man-Of-The-Match award this season after the first round of games in the Tanzanian Premier League.
