Ghana international Mohammed Kudus endured a disappointing night on Wednesday as Tottenham Hotspur fell short in their bid to win the 2025 UEFA Super Cup, losing to Paris Saint-Germain in a dramatic penalty shootout.
The match, held at the Bluenergy Stadium, pitted last season’s Europa League winners, Spurs, against UEFA Champions League holders PSG. Kudus, who joined Tottenham this summer, started in the attack as Ange Postecoglou’s side looked to claim early-season silverware.
Tottenham made a strong start, taking the lead in the 39th minute through Micky van de Ven. Just three minutes after the restart, Cristian Romero doubled the advantage, putting the London side firmly in control.
However, PSG staged a late comeback. Kang-In Lee pulled one back before Gonçalo Ramos struck to level the score at 2-2, forcing the contest into penalties. In the shootout, the French champions prevailed 4-3 to secure the trophy.
Kudus played 79 minutes before being replaced by Mathys Tel, showing glimpses of his attacking threat but unable to prevent the late collapse.
