French Ligue 1 side Stade Rennes president Nicolas Holveck has confirmed Mohammed Salisu decided long ago not to join the club.
According to French TV RMC, Holveck revealed in an interview that, the Real Valladolid defender told the club he prefers a move to the English Premier League ahead of the French side.
“Salisu informed us about his desire to play in the English top-flight hence his decision not to make a move here”, he stated.
The president of the club also confirmed Salisu told Rennes from the start he wanted to join the Premier League after Southampton made the move to sign him.
