Morocco national team head coach Vahid Halilhodzic has cautioned his foreign based players ahead of next month’s AFCON in Cameroon.
The Bosnian gaffer has warned that any foreign player he calls who does not come should count himself out of the Atlas Lions as long as he is in charge.
“Presumably, it will be a big problem to have all the players playing in Europe. For my part, if a player doesn’t come, that suggests he doesn’t have enough of an attachment to the national team.” He told L’Equipe
“I could refuse to call up someone who doesn’t want to come, even if there is a threat from the clubs. That player can say goodbye to the national team.”
Morocco who are one of the favorites to lift the 2021 AFCON trophy are paired in the same Group with Ghana, Gabon and Comoros Island.
