Ghanaian Striker Iddrissu Zibore Abdallah, on Wednesday capped off an impressive display with the only goal of the game to hand Costa do Sol an away victory against ENH Vilankulo on Match week 10 of the 2016-17 Mocambola.
The victory ensures that Costa maintain their third position on the league with 19 points, just a point behind second placed LD Maputo.
The former Bechem United forward has struggled for game time in recent weeks following a very promising start to life in the Mozambique top flight.
However, Head coach Nelson Santos decided to hand the powerful forward a start and the Ghanaian duly vindicated his selection when he arrived in the Vilankulo penalty box on time to slot home a rebound in the 58th minute to hand his side all three points.
The goal is Abdallah’s second of the season in as many many starts and speaking to SportsWorldGhana after the game, the striker expressed hope for more minutes on the pitch.
“This is my second starting game and my second goal in the league. I haven’t scored more because I don’t get the chance to play. I always come on few minutes to the end as a substitute”, Abdallah said.
“But I believe from now on, he [the coach] can never have any option than to play me”, he concluded.
