Ashantigold SC saw off a challenge from Aduana Stars FC in Dormaa to book a place in the next stage of the 2020-21 Ghana MTN FA Cup Competition.
The visitors started the game at a blistering pace with beautiful football on display against the Ogya Boys in the round 16 clash in Dormaa.
Former Asokwa Deportivo SC striker Gordon Kusi Brokelyn netted his second goal of the competition this season for the Miners in the seventh minute to make it 1-0 to Ashantigold early in the game.
The game’s tempo went down a bit as the first half progressed and the away team went into the break with their noses in front.
Three minutes after the break, Mark Agyekum grabbed the second goal to make it 2-0 to the visitors before David Abagna Sandan added the third goal in less than sixty seconds after the second goal.
The home team reduced the deficit to two through Richard Nathan’s strike but Agyekum grabbed his second and the away team’s fourth to make it 4-1.
Former player of Ashantigold, Emmanuel Osɛi Baffour scored a spot kick 19 minutes from full time to make it 4-2.
The Yellow and Blacks sealed their spot in the last eight of this season’s MTN FA Cup Competition with a comprehensive 4-2 win against Aduana away at Dormaa.
