Accra Hearts of Oak book qualification to the semifinals of the 2016/7 MTN FA Cup after narrowly beating Danbort FC at the Accra Sport Stadium.
It was not a vintage performance by the third-placed premier league side. The Zone three side gave meaning to their pre-match talk but were robbed of by inexperienced.
Danbort did most of the pressing in the first half, forcing the Phobians back and dictating the pace of the tie.
The Phobians resumed the second with full strength and purposefulness.
The introduction of speedy Patrick Razak defined the Hearts’ qualification as he won a 64th penalty. Vincent Atingah stood to slot home. Danbort resurrected from the goal but profligacy caused their elimination.
Berekum Chelsea could not handle Wa All Star at the Malik Jabir Park as they faced elimination from the FA Cup. The home side scored twice in each of the half.
Isaac Amoako second half score was not enough for Amidus Professionals as Medeama edge pass them in Tarkwa. Latif Salifatu and Rahid Nortey made the difference for the home side.
