Golden Kick FC head coach Fiifi Parker Hanson says his team is aiming to beat Asante Kotoko within 90 minutes in Sunday’s MTN FA Cup final—but is also fully prepared for the possibility of a penalty shootout.
Speaking to Sporty FM ahead of the high-stakes clash at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium, Hanson expressed confidence in his side’s readiness and mental strength, regardless of how the game unfolds.
“We want to beat Kotoko in regulation time, but if it comes to a penalty shootout, we’ll be ready,” Hanson said.
Golden Kick FC have had an impressive cup run this season, eliminating top-flight clubs such as Karela United and Hearts of Oak. Their fearless performances have set the stage for a dramatic showdown with Kotoko, one of Ghana’s most decorated clubs.
With the winner of Sunday’s final earning a spot in the 2025/26 CAF Confederation Cup, the stakes are sky-high for the lower-tier side. However, Hanson remains unfazed, backing his squad to deliver a performance that could crown their fairy-tale run.
Kickoff is scheduled for 17:00 GMT on Sunday, and fans can expect a spirited battle as the underdogs aim to make history.
