Black Stars midfielder Mubarak Wakaso is excited after winning his maiden league title in China and his second Major League Trophy as a professional footballer on Thursday in China.
The 30-year-old Ghanaian midfielder played the entire duration of the match and put in a good shift in midfield to help his team secure their first league title in the Chinese Super League against eight times champions Guangzhou Evergrande.
Italian forward and Brazilian attacker Alex Teixeira scored for the Suning side as Shahao Wei got the consolation goal for the hosts.
The game ended 2-1 to the away team and were crowned champions after the first leg ended goalless.
“We are the champions history time🎊 all thanks to ALLAH 🕌🕋📿🙏🏾 also family and friends my team mates and our amazing supporters @jiangsusuningfc 🔵🟡 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾 #ALLAHisgreat “, he tweeted.
This is the first time in Wakaso’s career that he has won a major league trophy after leaving the shores of Ghana.
Wakaso, 30, won his first league title as a player during the 2014-15 season when he played for Celtic FC in Scotland where he won the Scottish Cup as well.
