Former Asokwa Deportivo SC starman and potential Black Stars striker, Joel Fameyeh has revealed his goal as a striker and what he wants to achieve in his club career.
In an exclusive interview with SPORTSworldGhana, the fox-in-box striker talked about what he wants to achieve as a striker season-in-season-out in his career as a professional footballer in Europe.
“My aim is to reach the 20 – goals mark every season in my club career in Europe because as a striker what is expected of me is to bang in the goals and for that matter my target is to score not less than 20 goals every season at the top level”, he said.
According to Black Meteors attacker, he wants to prove to everyone that his 34 goals in the 2014-15 Ghana Division One League as a youngster was not a fluke but rather something he worked hard to achieve.
“I always wants to be on the score sheet for my team each time I step onto the field and score as many goals as possible to prove to everyone that my 34-goals a season in the Ghana National Division One League was not a nine day wonder thing”, he told SPORTSworldGhana.
Though the Ghanaian attacker scored eight goals in the Russian Premier League and nine goals in all competitions last season for FC Orenburg, but the Ghana U23 striker was not too pleased with himself as he aims to score more goals in his career as he told SPORTSworldGhana.
“I scored nine goals in all competitions last season, that is eight in the league and one in the Cup competition but as a striker I always challenge myself to do more than I did in the previous season and for that matter I wish to do better this season and the subsequent seasons ahead of me “, he added.
Fameyeh in his days at Asokwa Deportivo scored an unprecedented 34 goals in a single league season which has not been replicated or broken by any player in the Ghanaian domestic league.
The 23-year-old Ghanaian international was part of the National U23 the Black Meteors 2019 team but did not take part in the U23 championship which was hosted and won by Egypt last year.
Fameyeh has scored six goals this campaign for FC Orenburg in Russia despite being out with Covid-19 and other injuries.
