Medeama SC are still uncertain about their chances of reaching the semi-final stage of the NC Special Competition despite sealing a 2-0 home win over Berekum Chelsea on Thursday at the Tarkwa T& A Park
Tahiru Awudu and Isaac Agyenim Boateng scored a goal in each half to ensure the Mauve and Yellows clinched all three points at home.
The result however, leaves the Tarkwa -based side a slim chances of passage to the next stage last four of the competition.
Medeama are second on the table with 22 points, same as leaders Kotoko with Ashantigold in third place with a game to spare.
AshantiGold had their game against Eleven Wonders rained off, meaning Friday’s rescheduled fixture will determine the fate of Medeama.
Coach Samuel Boadu and his boys will hope that the visitors drop points on Friday enable them secure qualification to the next stage.
But the mathematics may not be in Medeama’s favour after wasting their own chance.
Medeama lost to Eleven Wonders, Bechem United and Asante Kotoko to make qualification a smooth impossibility.
