Chairman of the Black Stars Management Committee, Dr. Randy Abbey, has defended Sports Minister Kofi Adams over his decision to make the Black Stars’ budget public.
According to Dr. Abbey, the Minister’s move to disclose the budget ahead of Ghana’s 2026 World Cup qualifiers did not create any tension or dissatisfaction within the team.
He revealed that during his time in camp, no player raised any complaint about the disclosure, contrary to claims that the transparency affected the team’s performance — including the 1-1 draw against Chad.
Dr. Abbey described the criticism directed at the Minister as unnecessary, saying he saw “no big deal” in making the information public.
The Black Stars have already secured qualification for the 2026 FIFA World Cup and will learn their group-stage opponents on December 5.
