The General Secretary of the Ghana Football Association Prosper Harrison Addo says all stakeholders that will benefit from the $1,800,000 FIFA , CAF Covid-19 relief money will be accountable to the GFA in order for the governing body of football in the country to continue to receive FIFA funding.
“If you look at the FIFA regulations regarding the FIFA Covid-19 relief money memberswil have to account for the monies they have received from FIFA.” Prosper Harrison Addo Esq. said on Kumasi-based Fox FM.
The GFA is to receive $1,500,000 from FIFA and a further $300, 000 from CAF as the governing football bodies go deep into their financial reserves to support struggling memebers.
“FIFA itself is providing application forms for all beneficiary member associations and so there are guidelines for us to follow. FIFA says if you cannot account for the first payment to made by end of July then you will not get that of January 2021 and so we are also going to make sure the monies are used for what they are meant for” Mr. Addo added.
“The GFA will be very serious about the accounting of this FIFA money and everyone who will take this money knows that they will have to be accountable to the GFA.” he said to conclude.
