Austrian-born Ghanaian defender Kevin Danso has responded to RC Lens’ defeat in their Ligue 1 opening match against Brest on Sunday afternoon.
Brest mounted an impressive comeback, securing a 3-2 victory after initially trailing 2-0.
Lens took an early lead through Florian Sotoca’s header and extended it with Deiver Machado’s goal. Brest’s Romain Del Castilo converted a penalty just before halftime to narrow the gap.
In the second half, Brest turned the tide, with Kenny Lala equalizing from a distance. The game witnessed intense action, including missed opportunities from both teams.
Lens’ Adrien Thomasson received a red card, and Del Castilo sealed the win with another penalty after a foul on Mahdi Camara.
Danso, who played the full match at the heart of Lens’ defense, expressed his disappointment with the result on Instagram but shifted his focus to the club’s upcoming home game against Rennes in the second matchday of the season.
“Not the start of the season we wanted 😤 on to next week at home”
