Danish-born Ghanaian forward Justin Kwabena Shaibu has rejoined English National League side Boreham Wood on loan for the coming 2019/2020 season.
‘Boreham Wood Football Club are delighted to announce the return of Denmark Under 20’s striker Justin Shaibu from Brentford on a season long loan,” read a statement on the club’s website.
The 21-year old striker featured for the Wood on loan from Brentford last season and has been brought back in the same capacity ahead of the new campaign.
He netted nine goals and provided three assists last season as Boreham Wood finished 20th on the log.
He says “I was very pleased when I got the call to say that I had an opportunity to come back here and play minutes and help the team, I am very happy to be here.
“The boss has said that I have got an opportunity to come here and get some game time and that if I perform, then I will play a lot of minutes.
“I think that the style of play here suits me, so I am just very pleased to be here. I think that I am powerful and quick, and I like to run in behind.
“The pitch here is world class and I am looking forward to getting onto it and playing some first team football and scoring more goals for the Wood.”
Gaffer Luke Garrard commented on the return of Justin Shaibu by saying “He has been someone who myself and the Chairman have been chasing all summer. I know what he can do , I know what he brings and I know he will improve further as both a player and as a person as the season progresses.
”I now have a strike force of Kabongo Tshimanga, Tyrone Marsh, Sorba Thomas and Justin Shaibu and they all bring different qualities to the table and that gives me options that I haven’t had in a while. The challenge for all four of them will be, if you do get given a start, then ensure you do enough every game to keep your shirt”
