Former Ghana U-20 star David Atanga, has joined German Bundesliga II side Holstein Kiel, SportsworldGhana.com can report officially.
The 22-year-old forward joins the Storks lads on a three-year deal from Austrian top-flight side Red Bull Salzburg.
The highly talented Ghana international, joined Red Bull Salzburg in 2015 from Red Bull Ghana (now West African Football Academy) but failed to make the first team of the Austrian champions despite his sterling output at FC Liefering with 12 goals in 36 matches.
He was loaned to several clubs including FC Heidenheim, SV Mattersburg, SKN St. Pölten and recently Greuther Fürth.
“With David Atanga, we were able to win an extremely fast and flexible winger for us, which can be used on both wings,” the club’s Managing Director of Sport Fabian Wohlgemuth said.
“In addition, he brings a high understanding of the game and a certain wit.”
“We believe David will make our game even more flexible and faster with its variability.” He scored one goal with seven assists in his 31 appearances for Greuther Fürth during his loan spell last season.
Atanga was a member of the Ghana U20 team that played in the 2015 FIFA U20 World Cup in New Zealand
