Ghana U23 defender Gideon Mensah has completed his loan move to Jupiler League outfit Zulte Waregem of Belgium on Thursday afternoon.
The 21-year-old has been loaned by Austrian champions Red Bull Salzburg for more first team experience as part of development.
The left back has been on the radar of many clubs after producing that top-class performance against Real Madrid in a friendly.
The 21-year-old Ghanaian recently signed a four-year contract with the Austrian champion after previously playing for Sturm Graz and FC Liefering (the second Red Bull Salzburg team).
“I’m happy to be here. This competition has a higher reputation than the Austrian Bundesliga and attracts many young talented players. At this age I mainly have to play to develop myself. There were other options but this club gave me the best feeling,” said the Ghanaian international.
Last week, he was linked with Spanish champions Barcelona but it looks like both clubs could not reach a deal.
