Ghana Premier League giants, Accra Great Olympics have announced that midfielder Gladson Awako has left the club.
The talented club captain departs the club following an impressive stint with them through gaining promotion and helping them to a sixth-place finish in the Ghana Premier League during the 2020/21 season.
A post on the club’s official Facebook page read: “Thanks for your services to the wonder club. All the best in your next challenge. Once a Dade Boy, Always a Dade Boy.”
The Black Stars midfielder has made the switch to city rivals, Accra Hearts of Oak ahead of their campaign in Africa, reportedly penning a two-year deal with the Rainbow club.
The attacking midfielder has enjoyed great seasons prior to his return to Ghana, playing for TP Mazembe of DR Congo as well as United States’ Phoenix Rising.
Awako’s departure from the Olympics team is expected to be a huge blow for them ahead of the 2021/22 league season while Hearts will be counting on his experience to make a statement in the CAF Champions League.
