Karlsruher SC, a German club have strenghtened their central defense with the loan signing of German-born Ghanaian defender Stephan Ambrosius from FC Swiss side St. Gallen FC until the end of the season with purchase option included.
The robust center-back will thus play in blue and white for the second time after the 2022/23 season.
Stephan Ambrosius has already played 19 games with the KSC logo on his chest, and now the 27-year-old central defender is returning to the BBBank Wildpark – once again on loan. In addition, Karlsruher SC has agreed on a purchase option with the second-placed team of the Swiss Super League.
The Ghanaian international will wear the number 5 shirt at new club.
Mario Eggimann, Managing Director of Sports, shared his thoughts on the transfer: “Stephan is a true competitor and the ideal solution for us in the current situation. He knows KSC, the coaching staff, and has already played with some of the guys from the current squad. He is in good shape and therefore does not require a long adjustment period. In addition, he brings mentality and experience.”
Stephan Ambrosius on the other hand, expressed his excitement with his new move saying, “I am happy to be back at KSC. I still know some people from the locker room and I am confident that I will reintegrate quickly. I want to help the team as soon as possible with my experience.”
