Ghanaian Midfielder, Majeed Ashimeru has signed a permanent deal with Belgian side RSC Anderlecht ahead of the 2021/2022 season as exclusively reported by our outfit last month.
The former West African Football Academy (WAFA SC) graduate joined the Purple and Whites from Salzburg on a year loan with an option to make the deal permanent based on the output of the young lad.
“Majeed Ashimeru is leaving our club and moving permanently to RSC Anderlecht, where he was already on loan last season.” said the Austrian club.
The 23-year old midfielder joined Red Bulls in the summer of 2017 and has since played on loan for Austria Lustenau, RZ Pellets WAC and FC St. Gallen.
The former WAFA star played a total of 42 games in which he scored three goals and also eight provided assists.
Salzburg Sports director Christoph Freund also said “At Majeed, too, the loan was a good solution for everyone involved. He played a good season in a strong league and is now making a permanent move to RSC Anderlecht. We wish him all the best and good luck!.”
Ashimeru made 11 league appearances for Anderlecht last season, scoring one goal to his name.
