Medeama SC have formally announced the exit of workaholic midfielder Malik Akowuah to Accra Hearts of Oak.
The Yellow and Mauves side who initially threatened legal action against the Capital based club for illegally singing their player have finally given the dreaded midfielder the green light to feature for the Phobians.
A statement signed by Chief Executive Officer of the club James Essilfie reads ”Medeama announce the departure of midfielder Malik Akowuah Medeama would like to announce midfielder Malik Akowuah today joined Hearts of Oak in a permanent transfer”.
”The two clubs have reached an agreement to pave way for the midfielder to continue his career at Hearts. Akowuah joined the Yellow and Mauves from Ashantigold in 2012 and contributed significantly to the club’s surge in the Ghanaian top-flight”.
The statement continued ”He won two FA Cup titles and helped the side tremendously in reaching the group stage of the CAF Confederation Cup. We thank Akowuah for his efforts and wish him the very best of luck for the future”.
This means that the player will be available for selection when Hearts of Oak face arch rivals Asante Kotoko in the GHALCA FAB G6 tournament semi- final stage Sunday at the Baba Yara sports stadium.
