Tanta’s relegation from the Egyptian Premier League was confirmed as Al Masry and Wadi Degla secured victories on Monday.
The Yellows are currently bottom of the Egyptian Premier League table with 18 points from 30 games, 13 points away from safety with only four games to go.
Despite getting off to a winning start in the league, beating Wadi Degla 1-0, Tanta managed to pick only one more win as they defeated El-Gouna on January 21, their last league victory.
They drew 12 times while losing 16, including a couple of heavy defeats from Al Ahly, Aswan, Pyramids FC, and Smouha.
To make matters worse, they had four managerial changes this season, starting with Ayman El-Mozayen, who was replaced with Ahmed Samy, before a short return for Mozayen, which was followed by a recent appointment of Reda Abd El-Aal.
Tanta were promoted only last season and will now return back to the Egyptian second division, where they will be joined with two more teams, most likely FC Masr.
