Deputy Youth and Sports Minister Curtis Perry Kwabla Okudzeto, has taken a swipe at former Sports Minister Edwin Nii Lante Vanderpuye over a comment he describes as being ill-omened.
The former sector minister recently in an interview emphatically stated that there is no need for the current Government to construct its ten multipurpose complex in the country, stressing it is not the pressing need of the sporting fraternity.
This comment, Perry Okudzeto says is ‘ill-fated and baseless’ which shouldn’t come from a man who once led the sector.
According to him, Nii Lante as a former sports minister should know better and stop making such irrelevant commentaries in the media.
He adds that sports management is not like Mike Tyson in the ring or wrestling as he talkative [Nii Lante], thinks ‘’that once you are bossy and voluble it shows you are competent’’.
“Nii Lante should keep quiet, he thinks that sports management is wrestling or boxing, we all witnessed the controversies and confusion you created when you were Sports minister’’ he told Adam Adjei on Kasapa FM’s Dwidwamu Sports night show..
“The work is not a strong man’s business but rather implementing a vision for the development of the sector.
“Nii Lante should point out one facility his government did during the eight years of their tenure, we all saw how our stadia were deteriorated if not us our four stadia would have still be in a poor state till now even with the newly built Cape Coast Stadium they boost of, it was an initiative by President Kuffour in 2008.
“Nii Lantey should tell us what happened to the money his government gave him to construct the New Edubiase stadium,” Okudjeto jabbed.
