Accra Hearts of Oak SC goalkeeper, Richard Attah have been a pivot and an instrumental figure for the club in their recent games and their resurgence in the 2020-21 Ghana Premier League.
The former Elmina Sharks shot stopper has been the ‘best’ goalkeeper for the Rainbow Boys this campaign with a consistent performance helping the his team to get back into the title fight after 25 matches.
Though, Attah had a rough patch period in the first round of the league especially against Aduana Stars FC in Dormaa which made him loose his position to former WAFA SC goalie, Richmond Ayi, the tall and bulky goalkeeper recovered well to take back the number one place in the team.
After the sacking of Kosta Papic, Attah was the first choice goalkeeper for interim coach, Nii Noi, a period the Phobians went four games without tasting a defeat in the domestic top-flight league.
When Nii Noi left his post for former Medeama SC coach, Samuel Boadu to begin his reign, the Black Stars goalkeeper kept a clean sheet against WAFA SC when the Oak Tree Boys run riot at the Accra Sports Stadium with a clean sheet in his first match under the new manager.
But unfortunately, the shot stopper did not make it into Boadu’s team at the beginning of the second round as veteran, Benjamin Mensah was preferred to him by the new gaffer.
Few weeks later, the 26-year-old reclaimed his position as the favourite and the best shot stopper at the club and is booming with a lot of confidence in his recent games for the Accra-based team.
In his last six games for Hearts, Attah’s performance in games has been enormous his for Hearts of Oak as he has kept six cleansheets in six games

In total, the Phobians first choice goalkeeper and safest pair of hands has played in 14 matches this season and has eight (8) clean sheets and has let in nine (9) goals respectively.
With his current form, the goalkeeper could be the springboard the club needs to end their long wait for a major trophy since winning the league in 2009.
Hearts of Oak travels to face XI Wonders tomorrow in Techiman and if Attah is able to make it seven cleansheets in a role, the Phobians could be going top of the league table with just one goal.
