Former Black Stars midfielder, Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu, has expressed his satisfaction with Ghana’s back-to-back wins against Mali and the Central African Republic in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.
The former Udinese midfielder believes that Otto Addo is building a strong team for Ghana and has praised the former Borussia Dortmund Talent Coach’s tactics and player selection.
Badu, who played for the Black Stars during their 2014 World Cup campaign, has been impressed with the team’s recent performances, particularly their ability to overcome half-time deficits in both games. He believes that there are positives to build on and that Addo is bringing in new players who can make a difference.
“I think in his second coming, he said he’s coming to build a team for Ghana. When he leaves, then he has a legacy,” Badu said in an interview with Joy Sports. “He’s bringing in new good guys. We have watched the two games. You can’t even remember the last time we won two straight games, especially an away game. So, we can build on that.”
Badu also acknowledged that there are areas of improvement for the team, but believes that Addo is well-experienced to address these issues.
“There are a lot of lapses in the team. That one, we can’t run away from that. He’s well experienced. This is the second coming. He knows where he needs to beef up. We will support him.”
The former midfielder also expressed his admiration for Addo and believes that he will build a strong team for Ghana.
“I mean, I’m a fan of him. Let me tell you that for a fact. I think he will build a good team for us. He should be very tough like how he is as usual. Take decisions that he thinks will help him and help the team. That’s the most important thing.”
