Spokesperson for Asante Kotoko Obed Acheampong has revealed that the five Asante Kotoko players who were recently called up by Coach Maxwell Konadu to the Local Black Stars camp to prepare for a CHAN qualifier are not fully fit.
The unfit quintet comprising goalkeeper Felix Annan and outfield players Emmanuel Gyamfi, Saddick Adams, Amos Frimpong and Awal Mohammed started light training just last week but were included in the Black Stars B team’s 28-man squad for the CHAN 2018 qualifier against Burkina Faso on August 11 in Ouagadougou.
According Obed Acheampong, the management of the Porcupine Warriors has informed the Local Black Stars technical team not to put the five players through rigorous training sessions for now,
“We made the current state of the players clear to the managements of the local Black stars before allowing them to honor the invite.
“They are not fully fit but the point is per the program we had for them that is what they are going to continue doing. Start with light training and then later to ball works” he told Starr Sports
