Ghana premier league broadcast sponsors StarTimes says the delay in the start of the domestic league could affect their brand.
The 2017/18 Ghana Premier League which was scheduled to take off on February 11 , has been halted after Accra Great Olympics yesterday secured a court injunction in protest of Bechem United fielding an unqualified player against them last season.
Star Times in November 2016 signed a ten year deal with 18 million dollars to secure all media rights of the Ghana Premier League.
The TV Right holders have expressed their displeasure following the delay start to the GPL season .
“We wanted to give more attention to the league this season ,but we are affected by the injunction,” Spokesperson of StartTimes Ghana Eli Kondoh told Starr Sports.
“Our TV programing and schedule will be affected.
“We created a new whole channel just for Ghana football content and now that the league is not starting what happens to that channel .
