Ghana’s Parliamentary Select Committee on Sports is set to summon the Ghana Football Association President Kwesi Nyantakyi and his vice George Afriyie over the recent tension between the two.
According to a member of the legislative committee on Sports, Kobby Woyome, they are concerned about the bad blood between the two top officials of the Federation and are making frantic efforts to resolve it.
Speaking on the Game show on Uniiq FM on Monday Kobby Woyome said the committee had petitioned the chairman to look into the matter and summon the two.
“I haven’t been too happy seeing the problem between the president and the vice president of the FA”, Hon Kwabena Mensah Woyome told Uniiq FM
“Due to this, the committee sat and agreed that look there is the need for us to invite the two gentlemen, having known them closely and worked with the,m so closely”,
“We don’t think there should be any degeneration of relationship between the two and we want to look at the situation where the two fight, we believe even taking good decisions that will impact positively on the running of football in the country ”
At their first public appearance following the widely reported clash of the two, Afriyie was left red-faced as Nyantakyi snubbed him during launch of the WAFU tournament in Accra
