Ghanaian attacker Patrick Twumasi has dedicated his brace over the weekend in the German Bundesliga 2 to his family.
Twumasi climbed off the bench two net twice in the second half as Hannover 96 gave Sandhausen a 4-0 mauling at the HDI Arena on Sunday and he has allocated the goals to his wife and kids.
“I thank God and I’m just happy for the team that we got this victory today. It was a very, very important game. Of course, I’m really, really happy that I scored my first two goals for Hannover 96. I want to dedicate it to my family, my wife and my kids. They always motivated and encouraged me when things didn’t go that way. I am incredibly happy.” Twumasi told his club’s website.
“I’m here for Hannover 96 and I really enjoy being here. I love our team – it’s a great team. It’s clear: at the beginning, things certainly didn’t go smoothly, it took a while. But I’ve always tried to give everything and always arrive better.”
“There are always ups and downs in life. But you must never give up. Sometimes you have to “push” to get back upstairs. You have to keep working hard – and then the right thing will happen at the right time. I also read reviews of myself on the internet. But I tried to get motivation from that. I kept working – and that’s why I celebrated this goal.”
Hannover will travel away to face Darmstadt this weekend and the Ghanaian forward is looking up to the game.
“It is now simply a matter of working well during the week and then going into the next game with concentration. What I really liked today was the team spirit. Here too, we absolutely have to build on the win against Sandhausen.” He added.
