Italian Serie B side Pescara have become the latest club to be interested in signing defender Claud Adjapong on loan from Sassuolo.
The Italian under-21 right-back of Ghanaian descent has already attracted the attention of several teams, including Crotone, Genoa and Spezia but the second tier club looks set to offer the best deal for his services as they seek to qualify to the elite division.
Graphic Sports Online reports that Pescara boss, Massimo Oddo, has asked his management to get him Adjapong and an official bid is expected to be made by the “Abruzzese” by the close of Tuesday.
Adjapong barely had the needed playing time last season, making only five appearances during his loan deal at Hellas Verona and Sassuolo are eager to give him to a club where adequate minutes are assured with next year’s Euro Under 21 Championship in Slovenia and Hungary fast approaching.
The 22-year-old lateral defender, who was born in the Italian city of Modena, is still eligible to feature for Ghana at senior level.
He is represented by renowned FIFA player agent Mino Raiola who handles Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Paul Pogba and other big stars.
