Accra Hearts of Oak is set to commence the much anticipated Pobiman academy project this week as announced by board chairman Togbe Afede XIV in an interview with GTV Sports Plus somewhere last week.
“The aim is to make Hearts a ‘Magnet’ that will attract top quality players. Togbe Afede XIV the Executive Board Chairman has said.
Hearts of Oak has failed to lift a single major trophy under the leadership of the President of the National House of Chiefs but the club is determined to erect a world class sporting facility at Pobiman in the Greater Accra region.
“To become successful technically, we need infrastructures and that’s where Pobiman Academy Project comes in. We have done everything that we need to do for the Pobiman Academy Project to start,” Togbe Afede told the state Television.
“Works at the Pobiman Academy Project will commence next week. We will start digging the ground next week. We have signed a contract with a Turkish company, Prefabex to build the structures for the Pobiman project. Prefabex are building the structures in Turkey and a local contractor has been tasked for the foundation under the Turkish company’s supervision” he added.
