Police Ladies have won the first ever Sanford Women’s FA Cup competition after beating Fabulous Ladies 2-1 at the grand finale played on Saturday.
Faiza Ibrahim scored twice to give Police Ladies their first major trophy whiles Rafiatu Alhassan got the consolation goal for Fabulous Ladies.
The match which was played was played at the new Cape Coast Stadium saw some traditional leaders from the Cape Coast Traditional area in attendance as well as some key government officials in the Central region.
The Ghana Football Association introduced a knock out competition for the female clubs and was fortunate to receive sponsorship from Sanford World Clinics.
Police ladies are expected to face League winners Ampem Darkoa Ladies in the Champion of Champions match which will be played before the start of the next football season.
