Italian-born Ghanaian talent Patrick Nuamah is attracting significant interest from across Europe, with Portsmouth and AZ Alkmaar reportedly leading the chase for the highly rated teenager ahead of the summer transfer window.
The 19-year-old winger, currently plying his trade with Serie B side Brescia Calcio, has been turning heads with his consistent performances during the 2024/25 season, where he made 24 appearances and scored two goals. His dynamic style, technical flair, and attacking versatility have drawn scouts from several top leagues, with Sky Sport Italia confirming Portsmouth and AZ are among the clubs keeping close tabs on his development.
Nuamah, who is under contract at Brescia until 2028, may see his future come under scrutiny if a compelling offer arrives, especially as Brescia continue to rebuild and balance financial priorities.
Portsmouth, newly promoted to the English Championship, are believed to be front-runners in the pursuit, as they look to add youthful attacking depth in their bid for a return to the Premier League. Dutch top-tier side AZ Alkmaar are also closely monitoring the situation, drawn by Nuamah’s potential and adaptability within attacking systems.
Though he has represented Italy at U18 and U20 levels, Nuamah is still eligible to play for Ghana, a possibility that remains open should he continue his upward rise and catch the attention of the Black Stars technical handlers.
