The Black Stars of Ghana will have their destiny in their own hands this afternoon when they face Ethiopia in the penultimate game of the Group stages of the 2022 World Cup qualifiers.
Ghana needs at least a draw at the Orlando Stadium today if they are to make their dream of making it to the next mundial a reality.
The Black Stars have dominated the Ethiopians over the years as in the six games they have faced each other, the West Africans have won four with one ending in a draw where as their counterparts boast of only one win.
Ghana will have all their regular charges aside Arsenal Thomas Partey who could not make the trip due to injury but is available for the last game.
The Black Stars looks to be the more formidable side with the likes of Stade Rennes Kamaldeen Sulemana, Andre Ayew, Baba Rahman, Mohammed Kudus and others going into this encounter and the only thing which can work against them is intimidation as well as hostility from South Africa where the game is being played.
Ethiopia will rely on the efficiency of Shemeles Bekele who is the only player in their team who can cause real havoc.
Coach Wubetu Abate could also be using the game to make a claim following recent bashing by the Ethiopian Press over poor performance.
Whatever the case may be, Ghana is firm favourites and must be able to get at least a draw from the game though the three maximum points can also be a certainty.
