Ghana’s Priscilla Okyere has stepped up preparation with Spartak Subotica ahead of the 2018-19 UEFA Women’s Champions League group phase which kicks start on August 7.
The Black Queens midfielder will become the fourth Ghanaian to feature in UEFA’s prestigious female competition when her Serbian club faces Israel’s Kiryat Gat on August 7.
Okyere joined Spartak Subotica on a year deal from two-time Ghana National Women’s League Champions Ampem Darkoa Ladies.
Black Queens skipper Elizabeth Addo played in the tournament with Hungarian giant Ferencvárosi TC in the 2015-16 UWCL competition. Faustina Ampah and Ernestina Abambila also tasted the competition last season with FC Minsk when they made it to the round of 32.
Priscilla’s Spartak Subotica are drawn in group 5 alongside Montenegro’s Breznica Pljevlja, Switzerland’s FC Basel and Israel’s Kiryat Gat.
Okyere has already registered five assists and scored a goal in her three preseason friendlies ahead of the 2018-19 UWCL.
She was part of the Black Queens team that won the 2018 WAFU Women’s Cup by beating host Ivory Coast in the final.
