The Stranded Ethiopian-based Ghanaian footballers who sent an SOS message to the government to be repatriated home from the East African country are now at their various homes after 14-days of mandatory quarantine at the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence, Prampram.
The players made up of former Black Stars defender Lee Addy, Kweku Andoh, Muntari Tagoe and a host of others sent an SOS message which went viral over their ordeal in Ethiopia following the closure of all borders as they were unable to travel back home.
Their plea got to the Ghana Football Association fraternity as well as the Sports Ministry and with the help of Ghana’s Embassy in Ethiopia, they were airlifted back home through Lome in Togo.
The players have now reunited with their families following their quarantine which was part of the things they had to do.
“We have completed the quarantine and we are now home. We thank everyone who played a role for us to get back home.”Andoh told SPORTSworldGhana.com.
