President of Ghana Premier League side Kumasi King Faisal FC, Alhaji Karim Grusah has hailed the government of Ghana for their support to the Black Stars which is aimed at helping the four-time winners to lift their fifth AFCON trophy.
The outspoken football administrator also thanked the government for including a target of achieving a semifinal berth at the 2022 World Cup.
In an exclusive interview with Kumasi FM, the astute administrator stated added that despite the financial support, he does not see the dream of the Government becoming a reality under Head Coach, Charles Kwablah Akunnor.
“I am very happy that Ghana government has thought of the Black Stars AFCON woes and has decided to pump money into ending the forty years wait”, he said.
“It is also commendable that the government wishes to see Ghana become the first African country to achieve a semi-final berth at the world stage and I think we must commend the president and the government at large”, he added.
President Akuffo Addo this week instituted a committee to help raise $25m for the senior soccer national team as they prepare for the AFCON in January 2022.
