Ghanaian midfielder Majeed Ashimeru is full of disappointment following Red Bull Salzburg’s 3-2 defeat to Atletico Madrid in match day 2 of the UEFA Champions League.
Ashimeru replaced Zlako Januzovic in the 63rd minute and played a good 27 minutes game at the Wanda Metropolitano.
The former WAFA star who wasn’t pleased with his side’s loss took to social media to express his disappointment.
“Hard fought battle in Madrid last night. Sad with the outcome but we are not giving up,” he wrote on Twitter after the game.
The Ghanaian international who excelled in the midfield was scored a 6.5 rating from statistical firm FotMob and had a 96% pass success in the game, winning three duels and losing just one.
He is expected to continue his impressive form on Saturday when Salzburg host Swarovski Tirol in the Austrian Bundesliga.
The 23-year-old has made five league appearances this campaign with no goal to his name.
Ashimeru played a pivotal role in the league and cup double feat for Red Bull Salzburg last season.
