Ghana’s Black Stars coach James Kwsi Appiah is set to be handed a two-year contract extension from the Ghana Football Association.
Appiah who has been under massive pressure to quit his job as head Coach of the Black Stars after the team’s botched 2019 AFCON campaign, contract with the Ghana FA expires in December 2019.
However, SportsworldGhana.com understands the former Ghana captain could be given a fresh two-year deal to build a new team for the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon.
Appiah wh0 celebrated his 60th anniversary last month, was appointed head coach of the Black Stars for the second time in 2017 having initially been axed after Ghana’s debacle at the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil.
He feel shot to his task of winning the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations title for Ghana as the team exited the competition in the round of 16 after losing to semi-finalists Tunisia on penalties.
