GHALCA, the Organizers of the G6 tournament contemplated for close to 20 minutes after the semi final game between Asante Kotoko and Accra Hearts of Oak which ended in a 1-1 draw after the 90 minutes at the Baba Yara stadium on sunday.
The game which was supposed to immediately go into penalties had to be delayed for approximately 20 minutes.
Sportsworldghana.com can report the impasse was as a result of a disagreement between the GHALCA officials over a possible replay of the game.
Sportsworldghana.com understands, officials at Kotoko suggested the idea thus opposing team Hearts of Oak did concur even though it was agreed at the pre match that game will walk into shootouts if it ends in a draw after 90 minutes.
After 17 minutes of impassable situation at the Baba Yara sports stadium, a divide of the organizers stood their grounds and ensured the right thing was done to minimize the disgrace.
Hearts Of Oak beat Asante Kotoko 6-5 on penalties after the game ended one at each.
The Phobians have qualified to the grand finale of the G6 tournament and will now play against Aduana FC.
